Features of watermelon blanks with aspirin
If you decide to prepare watermelons for the winter in jars with the addition of aspirin, then make as many preparations as you can eat before June. After 9-10 months, they will lose their benefits and taste. It will definitely be possible to surprise guests at the New Year's table with such a dish, but in the summer it is better to enjoy fresh fruits.
Don't forget about sterilization. Most recipes involve it.
Why do you need aspirin and what does it give
Aspirin as an ingredient blocks the growth and growth of bacteria. These are the bacteria that make the marinade cloudy and the lid bloated. Aspirin is used alone (1 tablet of aspirin in 1 liter of water) or as an enhancing component to vinegar or citric acid.
As for marinating watermelons, it is better not to add vinegar to the recipe, but completely replace it with chopped aspirin. If you don't think this method is reliable, add a teaspoon of citric acid. But we strongly recommend trying to prepare a watermelon for the winter without adding acid and vinegar.
Important! Do not use effervescent tablets. You need chopped solid aspirin.

Useful Tips
Marinating a watermelon is not a common thing for everyone, so we hasten to share useful tips and recommendations from housewives:
- Don't add too much salt. It is only good in a recipe where the slices are supposed to be spicy. In other cases, try to have 3-4 times more salt in sugar.
- Do not add aspirin right away - just before the final pour. Less commonly, it is dissolved in a boiling marinade.
- Do not marinate overripe watermelons. Chances are good that the pulp will not be firm and elastic. This means that in the winter you will get something that looks like mashed potatoes.
- If the pieces are thinly sliced, it is better to leave the seeds, you do not need holes in the pulp.
- It is best to store pickled watermelons in a cool, dark place.
- Eat some watermelon delicacies before the new summer. If cucumbers and tomatoes can be eaten two years after pickling, then it is better not to experiment with watermelons.
